Things to consider before going to a massage therapy clinic
Massage therapy is one way for people in the metro to de-stress. And with the fast-paced environment, de-stressing is one of the must-dos of people in corporate America. This is the reason why in recent years, the number of massage therapy clinics in the metro tripled in number. The demand is growing like crazy as people are turning to this relaxant to save their stressed and tired muscles and spirits.
Although every one can certainly go to massage therapy clinics and avail of their services, there will also be times when it is not a good idea to get themselves a massage. Here are some of the reasons why you should first forgo with the massage and just relax the old fashion way at home with hot water and a good book.
1. You don’t have the budget
It is good to de-stress once in a while but if you don’t have the money to spare for one, don’t do it. It will be ineffective anyways because you will be stressed over being broke. Having no money is the number one stressor for most people and for sure you are not immune to it. So instead of wasting your money on massage therapy clinics, be contented on just lying on the couch and enjoying a good book. Save your money until you have enough to splurge on one great massage on that hip massage therapy clinic that you have been dying to go to. That is one ultimate stress buster!
2. You just went the other day
The body can take so much massage in one week. Be kind to your muscles and flesh by giving them a rest day. A respite from all that kneading and pounding will surely be welcome. Although there really is not recommended number of times that you can go to a massage therapy clinic, it is good to space out the visits to give your flesh a time to breathe and rest. A once or twice a week visit to the clinic is already good for most people.
3. You have a sprain
If you sprained yourself in of those softball games or while fixing the roof at home, don’t go to the massage therapy clinic for a cure. Go instead to your doctor and have him check your injury. That way, you can be sure that proper medical attention has been given to it. Remember that though people in massage therapy clinics are expert in massages, they are by no means an authority when it comes to sprains and injuries. In fact, they can even exacerbate the situation if they apply too much pressure on the problem area. That is why it is good to ask your doctor first if it is okay to go to a massage therapy clinic before you go.
4. Your last visit resulted to sore muscles
Although sometimes a visit to the massage therapy clinic will hurt some of your muscles, sore muscles are entirely different. Sometimes, too strong pounding and too much kneading can hurt the muscles and bones. So be careful with the massage therapy that you avail of. If you are the type of person who easily bruises, opt for the softer or milder ones.
If you had sore muscles from your previous visit, then it is safe to say that you need something milder than that.

Contraceptive Choices That Are Right For You
The whole topic of contraception is daunting. There are so many options, it is no wonder women are confused and often stay away from the subject entirely.
The easiest and most non-invasive form of contraception in my opinion is oral. It is virtually no hassle at all to pop a pill once a day and have peace of mind against pregnancy. However, this is only as effective if you remember to take it religiously and are only hoping to prevent pregnancy. Even then, you need to ensure that if you are medicated for any other illness, that the medication that you are taking does not cancel out the pill. There are many different options on contraceptive pills so it is best to consult your local clinic or doctor to find out which pill is most suited to your needs.
There is also the intrauterine device (IUD). This is effective for long-term use and is wonderful for women who are forgetful or uncomfortable to use oral contraception. The great thing about IUDs is that you can put them in and then if you decide that you would like to increase your family, you are pretty much fertile from the time that the device is removed from your uterus. The device can be left in for a number of years before it needs to be replaced, usually five yearly. Having the device inserted is slightly uncomfortable but with minimum pain if any pain at all. If this is the way you decide to go, all you need to do is make an appointment with your gynaecologist to discuss what IUD is most suitable to you and to schedule an appointment to have it inserted. On the day you do have it inserted, your gynaecologist may give you mild medication to relax you and they will advise that you take it easy for the rest of the day. It is vitally important that you have a follow up visit with your gynaecologist a week later to be certain that the device is in place.
Condoms are the safest way to protect against sexually transmitted diseases as well as unwanted pregnancy. This is great for women who do not wish to have sole responsibility over contraception or do not wish to use any hormonal or IUD contraception. Condoms are extremely easy to use and to purchase. They are inexpensive and come in various assortments. Most health clinics give away condoms for free to promote safe sex. They can also be purchased at grocery stores as well as drug stores; in fact, you can just about purchase them anywhere these days. All you need to do is make sure that you always have a condom available for when you may need it. Don’t just rely on your partner to provide the condom; you should always have one handy yourself. They come in such discreet packaging that if this is your chosen form of contraception, there is absolutely no excuse for you to not keep one handy at all times. Something that is vitally important to remember about condoms is that they are strictly intended for use once. After they have been used they must be discarded in a safe way. Never try to use the same condom twice. This can have dire consequences and will almost always result in a nasty STD or unwanted pregnancy. And no, washing it out before you use it again is not an option! If you intend to have sex more than once on any occasion, make sure you are well prepared with enough condoms.
The most drastic form of contraception is of course, sterilization. Male or female partner can do this. This would be most suited to people who are married and have decided that they have definitely no plans of having any more children or people who are certain that they do not want children at all. This is very drastic and should never be taken as a temporary surgical solution. Once you have been sterilized it is possible to reverse the procedure but it is very rare for it to be done successfully. For women, you can have a tubal ligation; this involves surgery to have the fallopian tubes cut. This prevents the sperm from travelling up the tubes to fertilize the egg.
For men the procedure is called a vasectomy and this involves having two small incisions made in the testes and the tubes that carry the sperm being cut. This prevents the sperm from entering the seaman. The procedure for men is much safer and simpler. The recovery time for men is quicker and therefore the preferred route to take for permanent contraception.
In the event of vasectomy or tubal ligation, your doctor who performs the procedure will make a follow up appointment to ensure the success of the procedure.
These are the most common and widely used choices of contraception. It us up to each women to decide which option she is most comfortable with. Do not rush into anything that makes you uncomfortable. Once you have decided which option to choose, take the appropriate measures to put your plan into action and never worry about contraception issues again.
